What is a yeast infection

What is a yeast infection? A yeast infection is a bacterial infection most commonly found inside of a woman’s vagina. In fact 75% of women will have one yeast infection during their life. 50% of women will have two infections, and 5% of women will suffer from recurrent yeast infections.

A yeast infection is caused by the Candida Albicans strain of yeast. Every human being has this yeast living in them and is usually harmless. When something happens to the natural bacterial balance, or someone’s immune system becomes weak the Candida turns into it’s fungal form, and then people start getting symptoms.

When the Candida mutates into it’s fungal form it grows hooks ( rhizoids ) that grab hold of the service of the body, and then the Candida starts overpopulating that area.

The usual symptoms associated with a vaginal yeast infection are…

Men get yeast infections as well. Although not as common as in women they still suffer from similar symptoms…

If you suspect you have a yeast infection then please see your doctor first. 50% of women who self diagnose themselves get it wrong, and end up with more problems than they started with. Getting it wrong could cause you to not to be able to have any children.
